Rather than I wasting my holiday with sitting on the crouch and watching TV or hibernating for a few days which was happening to me during my Study Week, I’ve decided to update my N95 8GB firmware today.
I’ve got this mobile phone one year ago if I’m not mistaken. To tell you the truth, it was not my 1st choice. Weeks before my 20th birthday I was scouting for my 3rd mobile phone to replace my Z610i. I broke it into two, hehe. I don’t have any photo to show how bad it was but you can imagine it.

Mine was black. Not pink or blue because the colour is too ugly.
Then, I decided to buy either W595 or W910i. I was eyeing for W850i but Dzimmo said it is better not for me to buy it. Thanks for the advise.

Then on my birthday, I didn’t expect I’ve got N95 8GB. I never want to reject any fortune anymore therefore I accept it with my heart open. LOL. It came along with software DVD with some other stuffs that I’ll never understand. I’m not a tech-savvy and it was way too complicated for me.
For your information, Nokia is using PC Suite to sync contacts, messages etc. But for NSeries, we are using NSeries PC Suite which took me months to understand on how to use it. Even the website itself, www.nseries.com made me confuse more. There’s a lot of new thing including Nokia LifeBlog that actually works as a synchroniser and I don’t understand what is the use of NSeries PC Suite then if they have Nokia LifeBlog.
Back to the story, I decided to upgrade its firmware. Apparently the version I’m using now is 15.0.015 and the latest is 31.0.015. Wow, my firmware is ancient. Long story short, I connected my N95 8GB using USB cable, make a backup and ready to update the firmware. While I was waiting for it to start to update, it says that the software couldn’t detect. The problem was that my NSeries PC Suite is outdated. Bear in mind that I have never use this shit for a very long time.
June 21, I went to www.nseries.com and check the compatible software for my mobile phone and what do you know, there is no more NSeries PC Suite! Instead I have to download the latest version of PC Suite. Nokia always make me confuse. I uninstall NSeries PC Suite and install PC Suite, repeat the same procedure and such. Again, it couldn’t detect my mobile phone. Let’s call it a day and I went to sleep at 7am. Need to wake up in the noon because I’ll have my Father’s day lunch and will send Dzimmo to airport after that.
June 22, I went to www.nseries.com again and made a double check for the software. And guess what, I downloaded the wrong software. Nokia just launching Ovi Suite today and according to the website, I should use Ovi Suite instead of PC Suite. Now I’m make a backup for my N95 8GB and hope I can update its firmware. If can’t I just let it be. I’m fuck up with Nokia. Not the mobile phones but its confusing website and complicated software.
PC Suite (old) >>> NSeries PC Suite >>> PC Suite (new) >>> Ovi Suite (these softwares are making me confuse)
So far Ovi Suite looks promising. Comparing to its predecessors, it combines with Nokia LifeBlog, meaning that I don’t need to use two different softwares anymore. Hey, I’m only using Nokia LifeBlog all this while.

Everytime I play the videos in this website, I'm hearing "Ophy" instead of "Ovi". Obviously that I miss her so much.
Ovi Suite is a software + website. You can access you files in the computer while surfing www.ovi.com with your mobile phone and vice versa. The sync data that you save is in both of your laptop and your own Ovi account in the net. So, even you lost your mobile device, the data is still safe in the website. And it also reminds me of iTunes where you can buy music and games here. The last time I check the website, we also can have our own Ovi email – asfanz.abby@ovi.com for example. I wonder if I ask Ophy to create one it will be ophy@ovi.com. It rhymes!
I pray that after this there will be no confusion between me and these complicated stuffs. I don’t want make my life miserable more. My life is miserable enough with one unit failed last semester.
